FIFA World Cup : Mexico vs Poland

There was a lot of speculation & spotlight on this match between Mexico & Poland, after the stunning Saudi Arabia win over fancied Argentina in Group C. However, the game ended in a tame draw, the second blank scoresheet of the evening, though Mexico had the better of the exchanges in the game. The best chance of the match was with Poland when Lewandowski was pulled down in the Mexican box & the ref pointed to the dreaded spot, after a VAR review. Lewa, looked a bit tense taking the spot kick & keeper Ochoa guessed correctly to dive left & block the shot - it was a poor attempt given Lewa's scoring abilities, & Poland lost the chance to win the game. Incredibly, Lewandowski has played more than 360 minutes in World Cup & not scored a goal yet - given his exploits at the club level both at Bayern Munich & now at Barcelona, this is a huge downside of this no 9.

The tame draw means that the Group is now wide open with all teams having good chance to move into knock out stages.
