ICC World Cup 2019 - India vs West Indies

India continued its firm march towards the semis, demolishing the once mighty West Indies by 125 runs to remain the only unbeaten team in the tournament, & send the former Champions crashing out of contention, at the Old Trafford, Manchester.
On a sluggish wicket, where run scoring was a challenge, India managed to put up a formidable total of 268 runs for 7 wickets, despite batsmen losing wickets at regular intervals. Capt Virat Kohli scored a fluent 72, becoming the fastest to reach 20000 international runs, while Pandya hit a quickfire 46 & Dhoni, lucky to survive a stumping chance when at just 8 in the 34th over, slugfest towards the end for an unbeaten 56, after a rather slow start. KL Rahul wasted another opportunity to score big, falling after a well made 48 runs, while Shankar & Jhadav too gave away their wickets, rather cheaply.
In reply, the Windies were rocked by Md Shami, who forced Chris Gayle to spoon a catch at long on in the 5th over, with score at 10, & the flamboyant men in Maroon did not recover, as India throttled them down to a dismal 143 all out in less than 35 overs. Shami, the hattrick hero from India's last game, ripped the batting line up with figures of 4 for 16, while Bumrah was dead accurate unplayable, with figures of 2 for 9, - it was a sad sight to see batsmen after batsmen parade back clueless to the fiery Indian attack.
India are now second on the points table, with their 5th win in 6 matches & almost assured of a semis slot. However, the brittle middle order remains a concern for the team management. The bowlers, however have been top class, in decimating opponents.
