World Cup 2011 : Pakistan vs Zimbabwe...

In a rain curtailed match at Pallekele, Pakistan overcame little resistance from Zimbabwe to post a 7 wickets win, by D/L method.
Batting first, Zimbabwe could manage only 151 runs in 39.4 overs, losing 7 wickets, thanks largely to a fighting 52 by Ervine & 32 not out by Chigumbura, as Umar Gul restricted their scoring with a haul of 3 for 36. The Zimbabwean batting could never take off, & the overcast conditions did not help either.
Batting second, on a D/L target, Pakistan though made heavy weather initially, but had little difficulty in reaching the target of 164 runs. Shafiq with an unbeaten 78 & Hafeez with 49 runs, ensured that the team in green reach the target without much of a bother. The only blemish was Captain Afridi, promoting himself up the order, could not get useful batting practice.

This win takes Pakistan safely into the quarterfinals.
Man of the Match : Umar Gul for his 3 for 36.
