World Cup 2011 : New Zealand vs Canada...

Weekend matches were a bit of a bore, as New Zealand took on Canada at Mumbai. Canada won the toss & elected to field, as McCullum & Guptill took stance at the crease. The Canadian attack had no teeth to bite into the Kiwis batting, as runs were score in gay abandon. McCullum got his hundred, his first in World Cup, while Ross Taylor got his fifty, & then the late order assault in the death overs, saw a total of 358 for 6. The Batting Powerplay yielded 74 runs, as the last 10 overs cost Canada 122 runs, too much for them to chase.
In reply Canada were in deep trouble with score reading 4 for 2, before Bagai & Patel resurrected the innings. Bagai went on to make a spirited 84, his highest in World Cup, & along with Jimmy Hansra put up 125 runs for the fourth wicket. Hansra was cramping & he retired hurt for 53, as the spirited Canadian reply started to fade. Hansra came back to bat again & remained unbeaten for 70 runs, as Canada finally got to 261 for 9, losing the match by 97 runs.

Man of the Match : Brendon McCullum for his 101 runs.
