After losing to France in their opening game, Australia took on Tunisia needing nothing less than a win to stay in contention for the knock out stages.
In a match which never took to great heights, the Socceroos were the better side & Mitchell Duke's 23rd minute header from Goodwin's cross found the bottom corner of the net to give Australia their first win in World Cup. Tunisia did come back fighting, but spurned the chances to equalise form close. Aussies hung on to the lead they had secured & the game ended 1-0 for them, moving them to 2nd spot in the group with a game against Denmark next week.
Tunisia with a game against France are probably out of the tournament, unless lightening strikes !!
