World Cup 2011 : Ireland vs Netherlands...

In an inconsequential match at Kolkata, Ireland took on Netherlands, in a high scoring affair.
Netherlands batting first, with no pressures scored freely, getting 306 runs in their allotted 50 overs, thanks to a wonderful century by  Doeschate, his 2nd in the tournament. He scored a wonderful 106 off 108 deliveries, as there were useful contribution from Captain Borren, who scored 84 off 82 balls, & Barresi scoring 44 runs.
In reply, the Irish batting too relished the conditions, & the opening partnership got 177 runs from just 27 overs, as Captain Porterfield got 68 runs & Stirling got a belligerent 101 in only 72 balls. This was good enough a platform for the next batsmen & the O'Brien brothers, NJ & KJ finished off in style with 14 balls to spare.
It was a clinical finish, as Ireland clearly stamped themselves as the best team amongst the minnows. They should most certainly do better in the next World Cup, as most of their players are regulars in the English County. They certainly entertained the crowd through the tournament & looked good in almost all their matches.

Man of the Match : PR Stirling for his excellent 101 runs helping Ireland to their 2nd victory of the tournament.
